“Let me think about it”, we say. And then we evaluate scenarios, consider options, Plan A or Plan B. We gather all of the information and then we think ahead and try to anticipate. We want to have it all worked out before it even begins. We want an end point, a resolution, a fix, some culmination of our effort.
Many times this approach works well for us. Certainly pausing to consider is always a good strategy. But thinking will only get us so far. At some point we are wise to move from our mind into our heart. Wisdom asks us to consider, “Let me feel what this is about”.
Thinking cannot bring peace or strength or confidence. It does not bring wholeness or satisfaction or love. Feeling brings these things. And feeling moves from the heart…it is the opening through which you can know what is true and right.
Go ahead and think about it. But don’t stop there. Feel it. Feel your heart moving you into the exquisite flow of life. Trust that love and peace and strength will rise from there.
From deep in my heart
