Bumper Sticker: Sometimes I amaze myself. Other times I don’t know what day it is.
I chuckled when I saw it today on the way to my acupuncture appointment. It was small, so I had to get pretty close to read it. Did you chuckle…roll your eyes…smirk? Oh yeah, many of us can relate to this little ditty. But why? What about it makes it wisdom?
Sometimes I do amaze myself…when I look back on my life and recognize the courage and strength it took to come through my cancer experience….what confidence I had to move to NC with no job and no friends…the trust in God and in myself to take jobs in which I had no real experience, but great desire and enthusiasm to be successful…the wisdom to not take things and people so seriously. Quite amazing!
And then there have been times when it all seemed hopeless and life was hard and I felt turned around. Lost, frustrated, confused, disappointed, doubtful and tired. Who really knows what day it is?
Now here is the wisdom…it doesn’t matter which ‘time’ it is for you…the some-time when you are amazed or the time you don’t know what day it is. The key to living life and living it fully is to accept yourself in either place. Accept your amazing self and accept your not so amazing self. Accept yourself…observe yourself without judgment. Notice where you are, feel where you are, reach out from where you are. Always begin where you find yourself.
Beginning where you are…that in itself is amazing.
Wishing you peace, joy and unlimited possibilities in 2015.
