Hell…or Heaven

Hell is not a geographic location; hell is a state of consciousness. Paul Hasselbeck, Heart Centered Metaphysics

This is a truth that must be understood and embraced if we want to live a life of joy, abundance and peace. We have the power in our consciousness to create our experience. Regardless of what is going on in our life, we choose how to bring ourself into that moment…and then to create the experience of that moment. This is powerful stuff!

So what exactly is hell? Hell is the suffering we experience when we believe we are separate from God, Spirit, Divine Mind, Oneness, All That Is. When we are in hell we feel not good enough, depressed, unloved, poor, overwhelmed. We feel that others are taking advantage of us or don’t care about us at all. We feel as if our life has no meaning and doesn’t really matter. We feel ‘less than’ in many ways. This is self-imposed suffering…our own personal hell. And it can feel exactly like the fires of the geographic picture of hell that we can create in our mind.

A wise Buddhist saying tells us the story in a nutshell: Pain is inevitable; suffering is optional. The power that we have in our consciousness is to choose suffering or something else in all the moments of our life. We are always making a choice…hell or not hell, suffering or not suffering. The outer condition/situation/person has nothing to do with our choice…it is up to us to decide.

So if we want to resurrect from our own personal hell…what is the other choice? It is the choice that aligns us with the truth that we are a unique and awesome expression of God. That we cannot be disconnected from this truth even if we are not feeling it. That all of the power and love in the universe (God) is waiting to be unleashed through us. There is nothing we can’t accomplish or overcome. It is the meaning in the scripture “All things are possible to those who believe”. Make the shift and believe in the power of a loving and supportive universe waiting to say YES to your call for heaven or hell…your choice.

Peace
