Peaceful and at Ease

Some days it seems impossible to be peaceful and at ease. Maybe even today. If you take a moment to notice, you will recognize that the source of uneasiness is a result of your interpretation of events and circumstances happening around you. We are the grand interpretor of our life. We decide the meaning for everything…and then we act and speak from that interpretation. You might have heard this saying “It is what it is”. But I say “It is what I make it”. I look into the world and I make it mean what I make it mean.

We all know this intuitively. We know that if ten people witness the same event there is a great likelihood there will be ten interpretations or views of what actually happened and how each felt about what happened. So life isn’t how it is, it is how we see it, how we feel it and how we know it.

Peace and ease do not come from the physical world  inward. Peace and ease begin in our minds and hearts and emerge outward into the world. We should stop expecting our lives to be peaceful and at ease, waiting for the universe to align according to our personal design…and start living our lives from a mind and heart that are peaceful and at ease. How can we do this in this crazy world of ours, with all of our to do lists and obligations, Facebook and Twitter, deaths and births, discrimination and judgment, grief and sadness, loneliness, pain and exhaustion?

We can begin to live from peace and ease if we take a moment to get in touch with it. Right now take a deep breath. Know that peace and ease reside in your mind and heart…at the depth of you. Claim it…close your eyes and say to yourself I am peaceful and at ease. Feel what it feels like to be peaceful and at ease. Repeat for best results. Do you feel different, just for this moment?

May you be peaceful and at ease always
