Rock Your World

There are no guarantees in life. The next moment is not promised. Too many of us don’t get it though. We act as if it will always be somebody else who experiences tragedy or unspeakable grief and anguish. We go about life having built walls that form a tunnel in which we live and operate. We may glance over the walls to notice what is happening outside of our world but we don’t stray out of our grind, our rut, our way of negotiating our life. In our haste to accomplish and have more we ignore our spiritual health. We like to pretend that everything will be okay if it all stays the way it is…if nothing rocks our world…too much.

Here’s a news flash…your world will be rocked sooner or later. It will be rocked by a loss of some kind…a physical loss, a loss of innocence or freedom or purpose. You will lose a loved one, you will experience a terminal diagnosis, hate will be spewed your way, your body will no longer work the way you want it to work. This and more is possible…in our lifetime.

So this is to remind you, simply…embrace the moment. Live fully right now. Practice being grateful for everything. Smile. Tell someone, everyone, that you love them. Be generous and compassionate.  Know that you are not alone. Ask for help. Be still and pray. Look for the next opportunity to share whatever you have. Soften your heart and let judgment subside. Seek out possibilities. Live with eyes wide open and heart bursting with passion. Most of all love yourself.

When you live this way you not only feel more alive in the moment…but you also prepare yourself for the times in life that will rock your world.

Much, much love

Paula
