Shadow

“There is nothing more meditative than celebration. And the whole art of religion is how to transform your life into a constant celebration, into an unending celebration. Celebrate everything, then meditation comes of its own accord, it follows you like a shadow.”
Osho, The Imprisoned Splendor, Talk #14

What a wonderful way to think about meditation. So many of us struggle to maintain a meditation practice. We have a specific idea about what it is, what it should be, what it should feel like and what it should produce in us. Maybe you want to meditate more…but there never seems to be enough time or enough energy…or maybe you simply forget.

This teaching from Osho reminds us that we are meditative when we are present to life. It reminds us to notice the beauty and joy of being present right where we are. It reminds us to not be dragged back into the past or pulled into the future…but to be beautifully present and celebrate. Celebrate whatever and wherever you are. In other words, see the good, notice the incredible nature of life itself, find the pulse and breath of life in every little thing.

If you live in celebration of the moments of your everyday life…you will notice that the experience of God will simply happen. Peace, joy, understanding, strength and clarity will be you shadow.

Much love
Paula
