Simply Grateful

Take a moment to pause. I mean really, just do it. Put down your phone, step away from your computer, turn off the TV, leave the dishes in the sink, wait to feed the animals or help the kids with homework. Put all activity on hold. That includes the activity in your mind. Suspend for just a moment the ‘to do’ list in your mind, juggling appointments, remembering all that must be done. Please, just stop for a moment.

Close your eyes, take a deep breath and become aware of your body. Feel grateful for all your body is doing to keep you alive. Feel grateful for how far it has carried you. Really appreciate that you can walk or see or taste or reason.  Feel grateful for your body exactly the way it is.

Now open your eyes and take another deep breath. Look up and look out. What do you feel grateful for right now? If you are outside it might be sunshine, the smell of rain or the breeze on your face. If you are inside it might be the cool AC, a comfortable chair or light coming through the window. Feel grateful for being alive…for the simple things. Really feel what it feels like to be grateful right where you are.

Okay. That’s it. Now get back to your day. I hope you take a bit of gratefulness with you. It might just change everything.

Grateful,
Paula
