The Only Constant Is…

Everybody has heard the saying…the only constant is change. Well, I am calling NOT on that idea. I believe there are other ‘constants’. These are not ‘constants’ visible in the material world. In the spiritual realm, the realm beyond the physical, beyond the thinking mind, beyond the seen…there are ‘constants’. It takes trust in the unseen to demonstrate their existence. Demonstration is the way that these ‘constants’ become known.

So what are they? One is this: Love is the power that heals. It is a constant…meaning it is true all of the time. It is not always true in the material world…but it is always true in the spiritual realm. Love is a harmonizing power that transcends outer conditions and circumstances. Love pouring through you, pouring through your heart, oozing from your being…heals. It heals you and heals outside of you. It can make you whole…it has that power.

During the reign of Pol Pot in Cambodia, two million people were murdered and thousands more fled to concentration camps. Maha Ghosananda, a Cambodian monk, visited one of these camps and offered a Buddhist ceremony. He didn’t know if anyone would show up, as Buddhism was denounced by Pol Pot. Many, however, did show up on that day. Maha Ghosananda sat in silence for some time and then began to recite from the Dhammapada.

Hatred never ceases by hatred: but by love alone is healed.
This is an ancient and eternal law.

Soon the Cambodian refugees were chanting and weeping…recognizing truth and comfort…even as they had experienced great pain, sorrow and loss at the hands of Pol Pot.

Love is the power that heals. It has the power to make you whole. It is a constant…you can depend on it. Allow it to work in you my friends.

Peace always…and much, much love.
