When something goes wrong there are times we look for someone to blame. Somehow we think it feels better to make someone else wrong. We want revenge. We think they deserve to be punished. We might sue them to recover our loss. We feel righteous and maybe even entitled.
Well…not always, and not everybody. Sometimes there is just a whole lot of compassion and understanding even in the midst of heartache and despair. That’s what happened in a Northern California community devastated by the Carr Fire. The fire was caused by a trailer that blew a tire which caused sparks to fly from the metal rim scraping across the pavement. One resident decided she needed to let the owners know that she was thinking of them, that she felt no anger toward them and in fact wanted to comfort them. You can read the story here.
Turns out it wasn’t just one resident who signed on to the Facebook page called Carr Fire Stories and posted a note to these folks. More than three hundred people did.
Would you be one of the three hundred? If you lost your home, your livelihood, your pet…everything…would you be one of the three hundred?
Count me in.
Sending love and strength to all of our California brothers and sisters.
