I’ve been thinking about the idea of visualization. You might be aware of it. If you want something in your life, you create a mental picture of it in your mind. You fill in all of the details and see it as if it is already done. You not only see it but you feel what it feels like as if it is already done. In other words, you shift your thinking and your feeling into possibility mode.
This works for some things. We use it to reach a goal, to be able to give a speech, to give ourself the confidence to try something new. I think visualization is a great tool to use in these instances. I use visualization every time I speak in front of a group, make a presentation or facilitate a class. I see myself at ease delivering an inspiring message…one that will connect with every heart.
This same tool doesn’t work as well for me as I am contemplating a new direction in my life. I have an urge to follow a different path. I’ve quit my job. I am confident in my heart and clear in my mind about this new direction. I feel excited and happy. I know there are many possibilities for how it might look…but I am not sure exactly what it looks like.
I am trusting in something more than what I might envision today. I am trusting in the creative power in me. I am trusting that if I stay open enough, if I make time for stillness, if I look for good and don’t hang on too tightly to what I think should happen…well, inspiration will guide me. I will know the next step because it will come in the form of inspiration…a new thought or idea that I, on my own, could not have imagined.
It takes courage…and I am not afraid. My work is to live in possibility thinking and feeling, to stay awake and to keep trusting. I am up for it…and I am grateful.
Peace always…with a good dose of possibility!
