My Christmas Wish

At our Sunday service last week at Unity of Wilmington a truly talented soloist sang the song My Grown Up Christmas List. I was moved to gentle tears. I felt my heart become tender and open. Yes I thought, yes!

These words are worth your time. If they resound in your heart…then make them your mantra, your credo, your prayer for the coming year. If they don’ quite fit, find the words that do and go with those. Don’t let another season go by without making a grown up wish, a big wish…one that the world is waiting for…one that you can live all year long.

With much love
Paula

“My Grown Up Christmas List”
Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies

Well, I’m all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I’m not a child
But my heart still can dream

So here’s my lifelong wish
My grown up Christmas list
Not for myself
But for a world in need

Chorus:
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end
This is my grown up Christmas list

As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree

But heaven only knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul

Chorus

What is this illusion called the innocence of youth
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth

Chorus

Music by David Foster and lyrics by Linda Thompson-Jenner.

Than you, Paula, as always, for sharing your loving and wise words.
This inspires me to write my own poem for the year.
Love and a blessed season to you!
